The Laws of Cricket / Lords - MCC
This was a fantastic project for Lords & Marylebone Cricket Club that I took from pitch to completion. A series of 15 films were commissioned to explain the more complicated 'Laws of Cricket'. They were to be used as part of a teaching package for children but should also appeal to a wide range of cricket followers. My concept to school a young cricketer ‘Tommy’ using an animated blackboard won the pitch. As designer and supervisor i then guided a talented team through, storyboarding, character design, motion capture, animation and production. As the project developed we were able to enlist the voice over talents of Stephen Fry. The finished films were described as ‘Brilliant Innovation’ by England Cricket Captain, Michael Vaughan and were used during live commentary on The Guardian Newspaper’s website.
